Local Natives: Gorilla Manor
Posted on November 24th, 2010 by
Gorilla Manor is the first album from Local Natives, a Southern California based quintet that originally went by the name Cavil At Rest. A big improvement on the naming front in my opinion.
Their music crackles with frenetic beats, agile melodies, and cascading harmonies. The tightly assembled songs undulate in varying degrees of exuberance and wonderment. I’ve now completely exhausted my vocabulary.
Also, be sure to watch this creepy shark music video for the track Wide Eyes.
